  • Does Attribute Changer 11 run on Windows 10 / 11 ARM ? … I got several requests to get it running on ARM.

Well, I enabled ARM support in the setup and users reported back that Attribute Changer installs successfully and can be used without problems with Windows 11 ARM.

Attribute Changer itself is an x86/x64 application and will use Microsoft’s emulation layer to run on Windows ARM. On Windows 11 ARM it uses 64-bit emulation and it’s limited to 32-bit on Windows 10 ARM.

If you are successfully running Attribute Changer 11 on Windows ARM, please report back your experience.

  • Attribute Changer 10.10 is available and it includes one of the most requested feature, a sequence mode for date and time values. Some reported issues are fixed as well:

    · Sequence mode for files and folders
    · Fixed issue that Exif headers without DateTime tags could remove GPS tags
    · Fixed XMP tag issues when saving EXIF modifications
    · Fixed issue with advanced mode for photos not always working
    · Fixed issue that filter name exceptions were not saved

    What is Sequence mode?

When enabling Sequence Mode in the advanced mode, Attribute Changer will set a different date/time value for every selected file/folder. The values specified in the offset fields will be used as an additional date and time interval for every file/folder.

For example, if a start date/time value of ’26/04/2021 15:00:00′ and a hour offset of 1 hour is defined on a selection of files, the date/time of the first file will be set to ’26/04/2021 15:00:00′, the second file to ’26/04/2021 16:00:00′; the third to ’26/04/2021 17:00:00′ and so on…

The order of the items is determined by your selection in Explorer and the right-click action. If you select 4 items in Explorer and then right-click on the third one to launch Attribute Changer, Explorer will send a circular list to Attribute Changer: Item 3, Item 4, Item 1, Item 2.

Explorer uses the item you used to right-click as the first one and then continues until the end of the selection and wraps to the beginning of the list.

  • A maintenance release of Attribute Changer 10 is available and can be downloaded free of charge.

It adds complete support for Windows High Contrast themes and fixes a localization issue with the date and time field’s context menu. Another bug prevented pasting date and time values from File Properties tab if the option to include sub-folders was not selected.

  • A new major release of Attribute Changer is available with some cool new features.

Under the hood, large parts of Attribute Changer have been rewritten. While it’s not visible for the end user, it’s important to do code cleanup and rewrite from time to time. You won’t either live 20 years in your house without doing housekeeping and renovation work.

Filters are now evaluated by all features available in Attribute Changer. For example. it’s possible to redate folders with only a certain type of files or set of attributes etc. Have fun!

Adding a missing DateTaken EXIF property to JPEG files was among the most requested features and here it is.

    · Lots of technical changes under the hood
    · Fixed missing translated strings in Reporting window
    · Fixed erroneous mousewheel scrolling in advanced options listbox
    · Make OK button the default
    · Photo tab is hidden if no JPEG file is selected
    · Simplified name exceptions management
    · Redate folder for non-recursive operation
    · Filter settings are applied to all features
    · Option to add ‘Date Taken’ if it does not exist.
    · Updated installer
